How we assess applications

All applications are assessed according to fixed criteria and a clear process. In this way, we ensure a thorough, fair and transparent assessment of applications and a responsible use of the funds.

How we assess applications

Main process

01

Qualification

We first check that the application meets the formal requirements and responds to the call for applications.

02

Professional assessment

Applications that proceed are assessed professionally according to fixed criteria. For larger applications, and otherwise when needed, external experts are also involved in the assessment.

03

Decision

The administration makes an overall assessment and presents a recommendation. The Board of The Norwegian Retailers' Environment Fund makes the final decision on grant allocation.

Assessment criteria

The assessment process may vary

Not all calls for applications are processed in exactly the same way. Some schemes have clear and objective criteria and can therefore have a simpler assessment process.

How we follow up on the funds
  • We follow up projects throughout the project period to ensure that the funds are used appropriately.

    • We collect applications, correspondence and follow-up in the same system
    • Projects that receive funding must report on progress, results and use of the funds
    • We set requirements for accounts, documentation and controls to follow up that the funds are used as agreed.
